The Smiling Buddhas started as a sound mail art project between Linz, Austria and Hong Kong/Berlin. Our passion is still the localisation of sound. We like to travel and report about these places musically.

2020 / 2021 are very difficult times for travelling musicians. We are stuck and the most we can do is bring images from the past back to life within us. Our new record will be about exactly that. The record will be very ambient, the beats less driving, because we don't want to remember exstatic, toxic nights - which often lasted for days.

We will focus on nature and tell stories of silence and pausing, of places that are so touching that we are afraid they might disappear. Here you can listen to a first piece that draws from memories of 4 Corners in the USA. A long walk through Chaco Canyon.

The piece does not have a title yet. We'll call it "4 Corners" for now. It is not mastered, it's a rough mix.
